Southern Girl Soapery Offers Alternative to Chocolates for Valentine’s Day

Whether you call it Valentine’s Day or Palentine’s Day, time is running out for securing the perfect amount of sweet for your special someone. Forget the overdone box of chocolates and roses, opt for something a little more creative this holiday that is every bit as sweet – soap and more from Southern Girl Soapery.

Founded in 2012 in Little Rock, the Soapery is now known and available throughout the South at large. Southern Girl’s goal is to make handmade soaps, shaving creams, scrubs, lip balms and the like, each inspired by stories and scents of the South.

You’ll really get into each creation, as everything is small-batch and stirred, cut and wrapped by hand.

Valentine’s 2015 comes with a new line of soap scents. First up is Scorned, a soap made from flower petals and scorched earth. Rich, heady florals with a hint of darkness seep from this sweet, sudsy soap. Scrubby, ground coffee beans make it a little rough, so you can rinse away your troubles with a long shower. Bonus local ingredients include Guillermo’s Columbian Beans.

Another soap special this holiday, Crushed, is made from cake batter and salt tears. The natural scents of honey, citrus, cocoa, and spice blend in this rich, buttery soap, with chunks of pink Himalayan salt scattered over the top. Life ain’t always sweet, and sometimes you have to drown your sorrows in a hot bath. Bonus local ingredients include K-Bee Honey.

If these are too wild for you, there is a variety of more traditional gift sets for both men and women. For instance, you can secure a Shaving Set for that gentleman in your life, or the Valentine’s Day Blush & Bashful set for that special lady friend, which harbors body cream, soap, lip balm, and scrub, all tied with a bow, and much more.

You can pick up Southern Girl Soapery online, or at any of these Central Arkansas shops:
